Secret Lives of Animals.

Now showing at the Tacoma Art Museum is The Secret Language of Animals. I had the opportunity to assist in re-creating an artwork by Jeffry Mitchell called The Pile of Elephants, and was lucky enough to work alongside the artist during the work-session. The original version was created for Jeffry's one-person exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum in 1990.

ren - it must have been very interesting to work alongside and see what his concerns were as this piece was installed. at first it makes me want to dive into the cushions, but then it somehow reminds me of elephant graveyards and makes me sad. i love that they dedicated an exhibition to our connection to animals.
